REPORT ON ACTIVITIES OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION 2019-2020

Alumni Association KIMS College of Nursing was inaugurated on May 7th 2016 with the aim to create and maintain lifelong relation between the college and its alumni. The following are the current activities undertaken by the association .

General body meeting was conducted on 17/10/2019 at 11 level Conference Hall, KIMS Hospital. It is decided to reconstitute the executive committee with the following members:

REPORT ON FINANCIAL AID FOR MEDICAL CAMP

KIMS college of nursing Alumini association as part of their action plan in the year 2020 has donated Rs 1000/- for buying medicines in medical camp, conducted by 4th year students on 08/02/2020. The amount was handed over to Mrs. Soni P S, Prof. KIMS college of nursing by Ms. Akhila L Prakash ,Alumini Vice President

REPORT ON FINANCIAL AID TO GANDHIBHAVAN, PATHANAPURAM

KIMS college of nursing Alumini association as part of their action plan in the year 2020 has donated Rs 5000/- in GANDHIBHAVAN, PATHANAPURAM on 10/02/2020. The amount was handed over to the Trust Secretary by MsAkhila L Prakash, Alumni Vice President. the proceedings were carried out along with the visit by the 3rd year BSc Nursing students to Gandhibhavan, Pathanapuram.

REPORT ON AID TO FAMILIES AT THONNACKAL DURING COVID LOCK DOWN

KIMS College of Nursing Alumni association as part of their action plan for the year 2020 has provided essential supplies for underprivileged families at Thonnackal on 21st April 2020 as a supporting hand to aid the needy people during the COVID lockdown. After enquiring with the concerned authorities, the alumni association has provided Rs 10,000 for buying grocery kits.. The amount was handed over to Principal Dr Susan Jose by MrsArchaVijayan, Vice President, Alumni Association. With that amount an essential grocery kit for one month was provided to 20 families at Thonnackal. The supplies were handed over to the families directly by our students and the concerned families were very much thankful for the aid that was provided during this devastating moment.

ALUMNI DANCE PERFORMANCE

KIMS College of Nursing had conducted the college day NAKSHATRA 2K19 on 23rd August 2019 at Osler Hall Hospital from 3.30 PM. The alumni students marked their presence with great enthusiasm. The alumni members performed a curtain raiser dance performance by Ms. Akhila K Anil and Ms. Anila K Anil (VIII Batch BSc Nursing students)

NEWS LETTER RELEASE…..

The Alumni Association has introduced an inaugural newsletter- “FOOT PRINTS”- A look back into the glorious 10 years of excellence in the field of nursing education. The newsletter was officially released during the lamp lighting ceremony of 13th batch of BSc Nursing at Osler hall on 15th June 2019.

REPORT ON LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME – 2019
‘A WAY TO SUCCESS’

KIMS College of nursing Alumni Association and SNA unit has conducted a leadership training programme ‘A way to success’ on 11th January 2019 at multipurpose hall from 9:00 am – 4:15pm. The welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Ashley Teresa Kurian , 4th year BSc (N) student. The inaugural address by Asso.Prof. Shobha Sasidhar was really inspiring. She also stressed about the dedication that every nurses should inculcate in their profession for their better performance. The session was organized by Mr. Murugan R, MSc MBA (HR), JCI Trainer, JCI University St. Louis, USA. Students from 4th Year BSc(N) & 1st Year BSc(N) participated in this programme.

REPORT ON CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME – FEBRUARY 2019
“Kerala rides to conquer cancer”

As a part of World Cancer Day a Bullet Rally for Cancer awareness was conducted by KIMS Cancer Center with the theme “ I am a bullet rider and I will spread the message for cancer awareness”. As a part of this program Alumni members of KIMS College of Nursing also participated for the program. The inaugural address and flag off done by Dr M I Sahadulla, Managing Director, KIMS Health Care Management Ltd was really inspiring. The bike ride started from Manaveeyam Veedhi by 7 am to ride alongside to Shankumugham. The program winded up by thought provoking speech by the Chairman at 9:30 AM.

REPORT ON STUDENT AID TO KIMS HOSTEL THONNACKAL

Alumni Association KIMS College of Nursing as part of their action plan for the year 2019 has donated an induction cooker for hostel students at Thonnackal college hostel on 13th June 2019 at 3 30 PM. Dr Susan Jose, Principal, KIMS College of Nursing, Mr E. Iqbal, Director, Supporting Services, KIMS Hospital, Ms Akhila L Prakash, Alumni Representative, Mrs Ambika, Thonnackal hostel warden were present at the function. Dr Susan Jose, Principal, KIMS College of Nursing has handed over the induction cooker to the warden and the representatives of hostel students of Thonnackal Hostel.

 

REPORT ON STUDENT AID TO ABHAYABALA AT ABHAYA GRAMAM 2019

KIMS College of nursing Alumni association as part of their action plan for the year 2019 has provided essential school supplies for underprivileged kids at Abhayabala centre at Abhayagramam on 6th June 2019. As the school reopening ceremonies were happening all around Kerala, The Alumni Association has planned to provide school essential supplies. After enquiring with the concerned authorities, the alumni members provided around 160 notebooks, pen, pencils and also other school aids to the children in the centre. The supplies were handed over by Ms Akhila L Prakash, Alumni Representative. The proceedings were carried out along with the visit by the 3rd Year B Sc Nursing students to Abhayagramam. The supplies helped the students very much and the concerned authorities were very much thankful for the aid that was provided.
