KIMS became functional on January 2001, with the pious mission “Care with Courtesy, Compassion and Competence” and with the motto to render world class Medical Care, Educational and Research. Within a short span of ten years academic performances have progressed by leaps and bounds. Since Nursing Services form the back bone of Medical Care, from the very beginning we gave paramount importance to Nursing Education .Further globally there is an acute dearth for Nurses and Kerala is no exception. Currently we are getting only 4000 qualified nurses annually which ought to be 20,000. In order to fill up this lacuna, as our contribution we started School of Nursing in 2004 and College of Nursing in 2006.
Our College of Nursing is managed by very highly qualified and experienced academic staff. Since KIMS is having some very experienced senior retired professors of Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology etc from Medical Colleges, they are also taking care of the academic activities of Nursing courses and this stands in good stead for the excellent quality of teachings. I strongly believe in the competency, dedication and sincerity of our staff in imparting high quality teaching and research as is depicted in the previous excellent examination results. Further the students are benefited in health care delivery which is strongly backed by their hand on training in ultra modern state of the art equipment and facilities. These will serve as a spring board for better job opportunities in India and abroad.
In addition to curriculum, we give great importance to extracurricular activities, disciplines and decorum to promote physical, mental and spiritual well being of students.
